[It's been a couple of days since he'd spoken to Banjou regarding exactly what they're supposed to do about this; quite frankly, Tsukiyama still doesn't know. But this world seems bound and determined to make him take on the leadership mantle at literally every chance it has to shove it at him, and while they'd both spent the last several days messed up over this, it seems Banjou needs him to handle this for whatever reason.
A couple of months ago, Tsukiyama would have gladly held this over his head; a couple of days ago, he hadn't felt the need to bother.
There must be something in the water.
That said, however, it had taken him a while to come up with something even halfway resembling an approach; he thinks he has one now, though he doesn't like the fact that it hinges on something he has no control over - namely, the assumption that Kaneki will be willing to talk to him at all.
He pauses before sending the initial message. Breathes. Remembers that strange ache that had gripped his chest when he'd seen Kaneki at the lake a few months ago, and hopes it won't seize him again if he refuses to answer him now.]
Kaneki-kun,
I know that I'm one of the last people you want to hear from right now, but I would be much obliged if you could find it within you to hear me out for a little while. I'm not asking that we meet in person - simply over the device.
It won't take very long; just a few minutes of your time.
