May. 7th, 2015 02:09 pm[It's pretty cloudy and rainy today, and since he's had the day off from work today, how is Kaneki choosing to spend it? Entirely with his nose in a book, clearly. He likes rainy days like this, anyway. It's not terribly stormy out, but just enough that the rain can be heard hitting the roof of the hotel lobby as he sits with a book open on his knees and his head in one hand. Other than the rain the lobby is quiet, so he can sit and read while Rikki lounges draped like a scarf across the back of his shoulders.
After some time he puts the volume aside in exchange for his Gear.]
I've been reading some books about the Kanto region, lately. Most of them talk about the different cities there, but they all mention the native Pokémon at least once somewhere. I found one book that looks to be nothing but a reference guide for Pokémon living in Kanto.
But I found one Pokémon in particular that seems interesting. Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. It does sound...ominous, from that description, but here's part of one of the Pokédex entries listed for it:
"Sableye digs the ground with sharpened claws to find rocks that it eats. Substances in the eaten rocks crystallize and rise up to the Pokémon’s body surface."
Does that mean that this Pokémon's body is embedded with gemstones? I read that they can only be found in Mt. Moon, and I'm not sure what sorts of stones you can find there...but it sounds like a Sableye could be living with almost any type of precious gem as a part of its body, depending on what it's eaten. It made me wonder if, for example, someone who was very rich could feed their Sableye nothing but emeralds or diamonds...would that alter its appearance over time?
If anyone here owns one, I would be interested in hearing more about what they are like, if you don't mind.
[After a few minutes he sends another short text.]
This is a bit...unrelated, but I also wanted to ask...does anyone have any suggestions for traveling if you don't have a Pokémon that can fly yet? I know there are certain Pokémon large enough to ride, but I'm not sure which would be the best for that sort of thing.
