[...All Tsubaki sees is Rikki and a Yanma, though, so she just shrugs at her trainer. She thinks it's possible Kaneki is just a wimp, but given that it wouldn't be polite to communicate this she stays quiet.]
[That happens to be slowly creeping his way down the trunk to get a better look at Kaneki, tilting his head this way and that with a few short clicks. Then, he reaches out with his front two legs to try and touch Kaneki's hand.
The very second he does, Rikki's suddenly on the Yanma like a flash, batting him roughly enough with her claws to knock the poor thing right out of the tree with a shower of leaves.]
[The Yanma makes a pathetic little noise, lifting its front feet to wipe over its eyes, wiggling a bit to try and flip back over and take back to the air. Meanwhile, Rikki's still up in the tree, glaring down at the bug with her tail lashing as she stands between it and Kaneki, who's hanging on to the tree for dear life.]
[Tsubaki can't believe what in the world is happening right in front of her and Maka's just digging out her Gear to point the Pokedex at Yanma.
"Yanma--the Clear Wing Pokemon," the Dex voice reads off. "Through the use of its two large eyes, Yanma can see in all directions at once. Yanma is capable of beating its wings at a high rate of speed generating a powerful shockwave strong enough to shatter glass."]
...Um, I don't think it's going to hurt you, it just wanted to check you out.
[...it's wings can do that and it's not going to hurt him. Somehow, he finds that a little hard to believe.
He doesn't get the chance to say anything, though, because the Yanma is already back up in the air and eyeing Rikki, trying to see if there's maybe a way he can get back up into the tree without getting whacked back down again.]
A-ah, I didn't mean to...disturb it or anything...
...Well, why don't you catch it? Your Zangoose already damaged it, so you may as well. That way we can take it to the Pokemon Center too so it can get healed.
[He asks as she shifts up in the tree a little, moving to get a better grip on the tree trunk. Rikki steps carefully along the branch before suddenly dropping to the ground, startling the Yanma into flying back a few feet. He doesn't flee, clearly wanting to get back in the tree.]
I've been trying to catch other Pokemon, but I haven't been able to yet...but I guess it couldn't hurt to try...?
[Kaneki looks down at Rikki briefly before carefully reaching into his bag to find an empty Pokeball. Just as his hand closes on it, the Yanma fires off a sudden Sonic Boom in Rikki's direction, which she dodges- only to have it connect with the base of the tree.
He fumbles, nearly dropping the Pokeball as he moves to throw his arms around the tree again, edging closer to the trunk.]
Rikki!
[The Zangoose is on the Yanma again in a flash, swiping up at him with her claws. It catches him in the side of the head this time, knocking him back to the ground.]
[Kaneki responds by throwing the pokeball as hard as he can in the Yanma's direction. Thankfully, he is by no means a pitcher, so once the ball connects it's not much of an impact. In fact, he nearly misses the bug entirely.
The ball splits open and the Yanma disappears inside with that familiar flash of light, and after a few seconds of violent shaking, it stops.]
...Did...did I catch it?

...It's a Yanma.
