[Oh good. Kaneki's a little godawful at written directions so he should be able to make it there in one piece. The first few weeks he spent in Goldenrod were a bit...difficult, navigation wise.]
Okay. I'll be there soon.
[He heads out once he's sent that last text, all of his Pokemon in their balls except for Rikki, who sits perched up on his left shoulder as usual. It's nice weather out at least, so the walk from the hotel to the designated place is enjoyable.]
[ Chie shows up there about two minutes before the appointed time, wearing the extra outfit she got from "Mom" when she started her journey. Pikachu the Emolga is perched on her shoulder, and her adorably pink camera is hanging around her neck as usual. ]
[Chie is familiar to Rikki from the circus, so she doesn't immediately start trying to make a fuss in Kaneki's ear about her being here. She does eye the Emolga a bit warily as Chie approaches, though.]
Good morning, Chie-san. I don't think I've ever been to this place, before.
[You would think he would have, as long as he's been here. But if she says it's good then hey, it probably is.]
[ Pikachu tilts his head and eyes the Zangoose intently, his tail swaying back and forth, but seems to decide that she isn't worth paying attention to all that much and starts looking at other things around them instead. ]
You've been missing out. C'mon, let's head inside.
[Seeing as how so many Pokemon have been violently trying to befriend her lately, being ignored is actually not as offensive as it could have been. She's just glad that Kaneki doesn't make her get off his shoulder when he follows Chie into the establishment. It's different than walking into the bookstore cafe to the familiar scent of fresh coffee brewing, but not necessarily in a bad way.]
[ The establishment is nice and cozy with old but sturdy furniture, and they find themselves a table by the window. Chie ends up ordering a white chocolate parfait with vanilla cream, cherries and pistachios and it's... pretty much a disaster tbh, since it looks large enough to feed five people. ]
I like it. There's so many things to photograph. [ She watches Pikachu reach after a cherry that's on the very top of the parfait only to find out his arms are too short, so she gives it a poke with her spoon so it falls down and he catches it. ]
And Tsukiyama-kun's here so I don't think I'll be bored.
He did seem pretty happy when he came to pick me up after I teleported to this city. [ She scoops more parfait in her mouth, and watches Pikachu stick out his tongue to lick at the vanilla cream near the edge of the bowl. ]
Apparently he's been here for like eight months... Which is pretty weird, but this place doesn't operate on logic so I don't want to think about it too much.

That, uh...looks good.

Meanwhile he just gets some plain vanilla ice cream, just enough to be something sweet to eat.]

[ She may or not be judging him just a little. Pikachu jumps onto the table and reaches up to snatch one of the cherries off the parfait. ]

Well...I guess so. I'm not too hungry right now, so this is enough for me.
[...in truth, thinking about next weekend has his appetite in nebulous places as of late, but he won't mention that.]

[ So says the tiny thing who is shoving parfait into her mouth in a completely unladylike manner. ]

[If she ends up eating it all he's going to be a little more than impressed, jsyk.]

[ We'll find out eventually! Though if she doesn't eat it all she'll let her Pokémon have the rest. ]

Have you been coming to this place a lot?
no subject
I try to eat at a new place every day, since the city's so huge. But I like this one a lot.

[He glances down at his bowl for a minute, stirring his spoon idly.]
How do you like this place in general, so far?

And Tsukiyama-kun's here so I don't think I'll be bored.

That's good. There is a lot to like about this place.
[The Pokemon can be strange and even scary at times, but it's not like there isn't worse back home.]
And I'm sure that Tsukiyama-san is glad that you're here, now.

Yeah...I've been here for...four? Almost five now, maybe. But you're right. A lot of things about this place don't make much sense.
